More Fun with Photos

August 16th, 2009

I wanted a building that had somewhat of a local taste. The former Matheson Building in Baltimore – which is the current Bank of America Building- was a nice prototype but I never had the nerve to start it. Photoshop, foam core, glue sticks, and my printer made it all easier.

Below is the original building:

And her is my model. I have decided to make several changes to keep it from being an exact duplicate- my railroad is a Baltimore theme, but not specifically supposed to be Baltimore. Since the steel mill is a historical “what if”, the rest of my layout follows suit. Anyway, here is my building:

And a few shots on the layout:

I found a new friend. Elmer’s makes a foam core board that is 1/2 thick. There are all kinds of things that I am thinking of. The immediate one was for large buildings. There are a number of folks that are artisans online that build everything from modified kits- which is great. I needed something inexpensive and “good-enough”

Here is the shot of the base of the building:

And here are shots of the nearly finished structure. The skin of the building are

digital prints that I attached with Aileen’s Spray Adhesive (good stuff):
